As the seasons change, so does what we wear. The first graders started learning about clothes and all the accessories that accompany them. They learned about the right clothes for the right situation whether it’s summer, school time and sleeping time. Kids enjoyed sing along songs and chants to help them remember what they had learned and practice while at home.
Traditions and celebrations were the topic for the second grade class. As we approach Christmas, it made it a very interesting topic to teach the children. They were very interested in learning about other cultures as much as their own.
Third and fourth graders continued to learn about grammar and spelling. We also did a quiz to assess our knowledge.
The fifth graders have begun learning about powerful forces of nature and how they affect us as humans. They are learning safety precautions and guidelines to survive in case a natural disaster occurs. They have also started working on their projects from the first unit.
The sixth graders were learning about heroes and influential people in the world. They have worked on projects that they are going to present in the coming weeks. They also have to present their findings to their classmates.
